Filter, search and sort state on a project's board and list is stored in the URL. That makes a filtered view bookmarkable and shareable — send the link and a teammate opens the same view.
You rarely need to write these by hand. Set the filters, search and sort you want in the toolbar above the board or list, then copy the URL from your browser's address bar. The URL updates as you change the toolbar.
There are four parameters. All filters go in a single filterparameter.
| Parameter | Values | Example |
|---|---|---|
filter | Comma-separated key:value pairs (see below) | ?filter=priority:high,due:overdue |
q | Search text, matched against task titles and descriptions | ?q=login |
sort | manual, due-date, priority, title, created, status, or cf_<fieldId> for a custom field | ?sort=due-date |
dir | asc or desc | ?dir=asc |
With no sort or dir, tasks are sorted by created date, newest first.
| Key | Value |
|---|---|
status | A status ID from the project |
priority | urgent, high, medium, low, or none |
assignee | A team member's user ID, or unassigned |
tag | A tag ID from the project |
section | One or more category IDs joined with +; use none for tasks with no category. Tasks in any of the listed categories are shown. |
due | overdue, today, this-week, this-month, or no-date |
cf_<fieldId> | A value of a select, multi-select or checkbox custom field (true / false for a checkbox) |
Status, assignee, tag and category values are IDs, not names — another reason to build the link in the toolbar and copy it. Each key takes one value (except section), and every key you include must match: filter=priority:high, due:overdue shows tasks that are high priority and overdue. Unrecognised keys are ignored.
/projects/abc123/board?filter=priority:urgent,due:overdueThe board, showing only urgent tasks that are overdue.
/projects/abc123/list?filter=assignee:unassigned&q=login&sort=priority&dir=ascThe list, showing unassigned tasks that mention "login", sorted by priority from most to least urgent.
/projects/abc123/list?filter=section:none,due:no-dateThe list, showing tasks with no category and no due date.
Filter changes use history.replaceState rather thanhistory.pushState. This means changing a filter does not add a new entry to your browser history. The back button takes you to the previous page, not the previous filter state.
When no parameters are present, the view opens with no filters applied and all tasks visible. Other parameters in the URL, such as ?task= for an open task, are kept when filters change.
