The Projects app is a full task tracker built into Fishladder. Use it to break roadmap items into actionable tasks, assign work to team members, and track progress. Open it from the App Switcher in the header — click the current app's name to open a menu of every app you can use.

Admins create projects:
Hover over a project group header in the sidebar and click the grid icon to open the group overview — a holistic view of every task across all projects in that group. Toggle between a List mode (tasks grouped by project) and a Board mode (columns merge same-named statuses across projects). Click any task to jump to it in its own project. The Group View button on a project's board opens the same overview, and a back link at the top returns you to that project.
Admins control who can see a group's projects with Manage Access(the group header's ⋯ menu). A project in a group is restricted everywhere — tasks, calendars, the CLI, the API, Claude and Slack alerts all follow the same rule; see Restricted boards. People who have been invited but have not accepted yet appear with an Invited badge and can be granted access in advance; it takes effect the moment they join.
Click Calendar in a project's header to see its tasks' due dates — and the target date of a linked roadmap project — on a calendar. Add more projects there to see several together, and share the link to send someone the same view. See Calendar. The button appears for people with the Calendar module.
Projects can be linked to cards on the Roadmap. Open a roadmap project's edit drawer and use the Fishladder Project card to link an existing Projects-app project (or create a new one). Once linked, the roadmap card shows status circles summarizing the project's task statuses — the same way Linear-synced projects do — so roadmap progress reflects task completion. Anyone who can edit the Roadmap can link projects — admins, and members with the Roadmap module; viewers cannot.
Tasks are organized into columns by status. Each project defines its own set of statuses (by default: To Do, In Progress, Done). Drag cards between columns to update a task's status. You can customize status colors by clicking the color dot next to each status in project settings.
When adding a task inline, you can type structured tokens directly in the task name field. Fishladder parses them in real time and shows chips below the input. See Smart Task Creation Syntax for the details.
| Token | Example | Effect |
|---|---|---|
@name | @sarahchen or @sarah | Assign the task — full name without spaces, or a first name only one teammate has |
!priority | !high | Set priority (low, medium, high, urgent) |
#tag | #backend | Reserved — removed from the title but not applied yet |
due:date | due:friday or due:2026-04-01 | Set due date (relative or absolute) |
>project-name | >mobile-app | Create the task on that project (name in lowercase, spaces as hyphens) |
Example: typing Fix login bug @sarah !high due:friday creates a task titled "Fix login bug" assigned to Sarah, with high priority, due next Friday. A name that matches nobody, or more than one person, shows as an unknown chip and assigns no one. Click the × on any chip to remove it.
Tasks appear in a structured list grouped by category. Each task row shows the title, priority, due date, status, and assignee. Toggle between Board and List using the view switcher in the project header.

Click any task to open the detail pane on the right side. From there you can edit:

Every task has an Attachments section in the detail pane. Paste an image straight onto the page, drag and drop a file onto it, or click Upload to pick one. Pasting is the quickest way to attach a screenshot you have just taken — no need to save it first. Supported types include PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown, HTML, plain text, CSV, and images, up to 10MB per file. Anyone on the team can download an attachment; deleting one is limited to the person who uploaded it or an admin.
Images are re-saved when you upload them, which removes embedded metadata such as the location a photo was taken. What you see is kept; what was hidden in the file is not.
The Add Screenshot button attaches the most recent image from your screenshots folder in one click. The first time you use it, your browser asks you to choose the folder where your screenshots are saved (on a Mac this is usually the Desktop or a Screenshots folder); after that, each click grabs the newest screenshot automatically. This feature requires a Chromium-based browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Arc — in other browsers the button is hidden.
The task detail pane includes a combined timeline of comments and activity. Team members can leave comments with @mentions to notify others. Activity entries are recorded automatically when fields change (status, assignee, priority, etc.).
Use the filter toolbar above the task list or board to narrow down tasks:

The My Tasks page (accessible from the sidebar) shows every task assigned to you across all projects, organized into date-based sections:
