Backups

Fishladder provides server-side backups so you can snapshot and restore your team's board state. Only team admins can manage backups.

Creating a Backup

  1. Go to Settings → Backups.
  2. Enter an optional name for the backup (defaults to the current date).
  3. Click Create Backup.

The backup captures a snapshot of your team's kanban assignments, theme rows, initiative order, card order, planning dates, and other board state. It does not include Linear data — that is always fetched fresh from Linear.

Restoring a Backup

  1. Find the backup you want to restore in the list.
  2. Click the Restore button.
  3. Confirm the action in the dialog. This overwrites your current board state.
  4. The page reloads automatically after restoring.

Warning: Restoring a backup replaces all current kanban assignments, theme rows, and board layout. This cannot be undone. Consider creating a fresh backup before restoring an older one.

Deleting a Backup

Click the delete icon next to a backup and confirm. Deleted backups cannot be recovered.

Client-Side Export

In addition to server-side backups, you can export your data as a JSON file from the Export dialog in the toolbar. This gives you a local copy that is not stored on the server.
