Exporting Data

Fishladder lets you export your roadmap in several formats. Click the Export button (download icon) in the toolbar to open the export dialog.

Export Formats

PNG Image

Captures the current roadmap view (Timeline or Kanban) as a high-resolution PNG image. Useful for sharing in presentations, Slack, or documents.

PDF Document

Exports the roadmap as a multi-page PDF. The layout is optimized for printing and landscape viewing.

CSV Spreadsheet

Exports all roadmap items as a CSV file with columns for title, type, status, start date, target date, and more. Open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.

Backup (JSON)

Exports the raw roadmap data as a JSON file. This includes items, kanban assignments, initiative order, card order, and planning dates. Use this for archival or to transfer data between environments.

Trim to Used Quarters

Check Trim to used quarters before exporting PNG or PDF. This crops the export to only include quarters that contain at least one project, removing empty trailing columns for a cleaner output.

Activity Logs Export

You can also export your team's activity logs from Settings → Logs. Click the Export dropdown in the top-right corner and choose a format:

  • CSV — Opens a CSV file with columns for timestamp, user, action, entity type, entity name, source, app, and entity ID. Compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet tools.
  • JSON — Downloads log entries as a formatted JSON array. Useful for programmatic analysis or archival.

The export respects any active filters (user, source, app, search) so you can narrow down the data before downloading. Up to 10,000 log entries are included per export.

Tips

  • PNG and PDF exports capture the full scrollable content, not just the visible viewport.
  • For the best PNG quality, use a smaller zoom level to include more data in the capture.
  • The backup JSON can be used alongside server-side backups for a defense-in-depth approach.
  • Use the logs export to audit team activity, generate compliance reports, or analyze usage patterns.
