Planning Dates

Planning dates let you adjust project timelines locally without immediately pushing changes to Linear. This is useful for draft planning, what-if scenarios, or batch updates.

How Planning Dates Work

  1. When you drag a bar on the timeline, resize it, move a card to a different quarter, or edit dates in the drawer, Fishladder creates a planning date override.
  2. The override is saved to your team's database but is not sent to Linear.
  3. If your team is connected to Linear, an amber Fresh Mode pill appears in the toolbar showing how many items have dates that differ from Linear.

Visual Indicators

  • Timeline: bars with planning date changes show a dashed amber border.
  • Kanban: cards with planning date changes show an amber calendar icon.
  • Edit Drawer: both the planning date and the original Linear date are shown side by side.

Committing Changes

To push your planned dates to Linear:

  • Click the Fresh Mode pill in the toolbar to open the Fresh Mode panel.
  • Review each item's date changes.
  • Click Commit on individual items, or Commit All to Linear to push everything at once.

Resetting

To discard your planning changes and revert to Linear's dates, click Reset on individual items or Reset All in the Fresh Mode panel. You can also reset from the edit drawer.
